Persian Gulf lake project commended

Tehran, Oct 11, IRNA -- The Persian Gulf Martyr Lake project was commended in the 11th Metropolis World Congress held in Heydarabad, India, during October 6-10. The congress jury ranked the project among the top 20 implemented in metropolises worldwide. A plaque of honor was awarded by the head of the congress and mayors of Berlin, Paris, Johannesburg and Heydarabad to Mahmoud Salahi, Tehran's deputy mayor for planning and development. The emphasis made by the event's organizers in the name of Persian Gulf indicates that municipal managers have taken a wise decision in this regard. The Tehran Municipality delegates, headed by Salahi, also held talks with the mayors of Heydarabad and New Delhi. During the meeting held with the Board of Director of L&T Technology Services in New Delhi, the two sides discussed cooperation in the field of implementing infrastructural urban projects, including development of subway and treatment of wastewater. The Indian side, having extensive experiences in designing and implementing large projects, including construction of subway, airport, exhibition, road and bridge, expressed its readiness to participate in Tehran's development projects./end
