Persian horse breeds up for global registration

Shahr-e Kord, Oct 14, IRNA – Head of Iran’s Equestrian Federation said that measures needed for glabal registration of Iranian horse breeds have been taken. “Pedigree-books set up and blood sampling have been performed for Turkoman, Arab, Dare-Shouri, and Caspian breeds of Persian horse by the federation,” said Masoud Khalili in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA). “Microchips containing blood samples have been sent to international reference laboratories, and two of four pedigree-books are ready to publish,” he added. He stressed that the federation sent the blood samples to University of Kentucky, paid for the tests, and is now waiting for test results. Persian horses are sometimes traded under the name of other countries and global registration helps prevent the forgery. 9462**1771 Follow us on Twitter @IrnaEnglish
