Persian-language courses open in Bulgaria

Tehran, Nov 22, IRNA – The 3rd edition of Persian-language primary & intermediate courses opened in Bulgaria’s Plovdiv on Friday. Iran’s cultural attaché office in Sofia reported that the language sessions, which draw Persian language and literature lovers in Bulgaria, are held by the office and the cooperation of Plovdiv University as well as Iran-Bulgaria’s friendship and cultural studies association. During the opening ceremony of the language courses, Iran’s cultural attaché in Sofia Mohammad Ali Kiani talked about Persian language, literature and culture. He also presented detailed information on Iran’s ancient history and the country’s language, race and geographic features. The language courses, in University of Plovdiv’s Languages and Literature faculty, are held twice a week in primary & intermediate levels for three months. The University of Plovdiv was founded in 1960. It currently holds 9 faculties and 16,000 students. The university’s Languages and Literature faculty presents courses on Slavonic, English, Russia, French, German as well as the Balkan region’s languages and Literature. Persian-Language is also planned to be added to the center’s curriculum./end
