Pertamina To Sell Environmentally Friendly Fuel Ahead Of Asian Games, IMF Meeting

JAKARTA, March 27 (Antara) - State oil and gas firm PT Pertamina will sell quality and environmentally friendly fuel equal to Euro 4 particularly ahead of the Asian Games 2018 in August and an IMF-World Bank meeting in October. The move is intended to make the air healthier, Pertamina's external communication manager, Arya Dwi Paramita, said in a press statement released on Monday. "Prior to the Asian Games in August 2018 and the IMF-World Bank meeting in October 2018, the government has made it mandatory to use fuel equal to Euro 4 in Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi), Palembang, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Banyuwangi, Bali, Bandung and Labuan Bajo starting May 2018," Paramita said. She said Pertamina will sell the fuel equal to Euro 4 in stages. To produce quality and environmentally friendly fuel, Pertamina continues to modernize its refinery development masterplan program (RDMP) and build grass root refineries /GRR), she said. Through the program, Pertamina has set itself the target of producing quality and environmentally friendly fuel of Euro 5 standard in five to seven years' time, she said. She said Pertamina has assigned a number of its refineries in Balikpapan, Balongan and Cilacap to produce high quality fuel such as Pertamina Dex, Pertamax dan Pertamax Turbo. The production of quality fuel will have a positive impact on the production and competitiveness of national automotive industry, she said.
