Picasso, Dali sold at Tehran’s Intl. Gallery Exposition

TEHRAN,June 30(MNA) -- Works by Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali were some of the major works sold in the International Gallery Exposition at Tehran’s Qasr Garden Museum. A Picasso was sold to a private collector for €100,000, the expo executive director’s, Hamed Asghari, told on Sunday. One item by Dali, displayed in the expo by a Spanish gallery, was sold for €9400, he added. Several Iranian artworks were also sold at good prices, having attracted the collectors, he said. Twenty-four galleries from different countries displayed about 240 valuable artworks at the exposition, which came to an end yesterday. 160 works by Iranian artists were also shown. The exhibition was organized by the Nasl-e Aftab Cultural and Sport Institute, an Iranian NGO, to raise funds for people suffering from rare diseases.
