Plan Of Action To Empower Malaysian Single Mothers

BEAUFORT (Sabah, Malaysia) Sept 5 (Bernama) -- A plan of action to empower single mothers in the country from the aspect of economy, education, health and law would be launched soon. Women, Family and Community Development Deputy Minister Azizah Mohd Dun said the plan was aimed at removing the stigma and negative perception about single mothers. She said this at the district-level Women's Day celebration here, Azizah who is also Beaufort member of parliament said women's involvement in decision making had been very encouraging. She said as of June this year, women's participation in decision making had reached 33 per cent, exceeding the 30 per cent target. --BERNAMA
