PM awards outstanding Thai youths

BANGKOK, January 11 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra Wednesday presented awards to outstanding Thai youths in the lead-up to the National Children’s Day 2012, which falls on January 14. Education Ministry officials led the over 720 outstanding Thai youths from all regions to pay a courtesy call on the prime minister, who then presented the awards and souvenirs to the selected youths for building good reputations for the nation. Premier Yingluck lauded the young awardees for making their parents, teachers and the country proud of them, insisting that her government has seriously paid attention to education for the sake of all Thai children's good future. The Puea Thai premier mentioned her motto for the National Children’s Day this year, which calls for unity, learning, wisdom, Thai traits and technological updates among the younger Thai generations. A representative of the young awardees thanked the prime minister for presenting them the motto and recognizing the potential of Thai youths, calling on the prime minister to give more chances for the youths to express themselves through public media to further enhance their capabilities.
