PM Erdogan gives information on "FATIH" Project to Google Chairman Schmidt

ISTANBUL (A.A) - In a meeting he held with Google Chairman Eric Schmidt in Istanbul on Saturday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave information on the "Movement of Enhancing Opportunities and Improving Technology", abbreviated as FATIH Project. Erdogan told Schmidt that, as part of the FATIH Project, 12,800 tablet computers were distributed in 52 schools in 17 provinces within a pilot scheme in Turkey. Erdogan also gave information on research and development activities and investments in such fields in Turkey. Schmidt, in his part, told Prime Minister Erdogan that they paid high attention to Turkey and that Turkey was an extremely important regional country. Schmidt said that Turkey had great potential in the field of informatics.
