PM gives support to women national volleyball team

ST PETERSBURG, May 19 (TNA) -- Prime Minster Gen Prayuth Chan-o-cha, who is currently on his official visit to Russia, gave his support to the national women volleyball team, after the players had lost last night's match to Japan in the qualifying rounds for the Olympics. The premier said you can either win or lose in a competition and it is normal for us to make a mistake sometimes in sports contests. He noted that he has been closely observing the team and has always been cheering the team on. Although the team lost today, he said, it could still win tomorrow, adding since they had failed this time, they can learn from their mistakes. He also said maintaining the champion position is harder than gaining it. Thailand fell into misery when the women volleyball team lost to Japan in last night's thrilling five set match, as the team knew that the win would be crucial for its qualification for the upcoming Olympics. Many have voiced anger and dissatisfaction for the referee's controversial decisions last night which left the Thai team at a disadvantage. Most Thai fans have also expressed, through social media, of the unfair treatment for the Thai team by the Mexican referee. (TNA)
