PM Najib And Delegation Perform Umrah

MECCA (Saudi Arabia), Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak, who arrived in this Holy Land Monday morning to attend the 4th Extraordinary Summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Tuesday, began his programme here by performing the 'Umrah'. Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, as well as members of his delegation including Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Jamil Khir Baharom (left) and the Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Syed Omar Mohamad Al-Saggaf, began his Umrah ritual at about 7am local time. The OIC Extraordinary Summit aimed to discuss the latest situation in the Islamic world with the intention of regaining and strengthening Muslim solidarity and fighting elements that caused conflicts and chaos. The summit organised by Saudi Arabian King Abdullah Abdul Aziz would take place at the As-Safa Palace located next to the 'Masjidil Haram' and would begin after the 'terawih' prayers at about 11pm until the pre-dawn meal or 'sahur' at about 4am on Tuesday and Wednesday. All the 57 leaders and representatives of the OIC member countries would attend the extraordinary summit.
