PM Najib Appreciates Birthday Wishes, Touched By The Inspirational Words

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Razak thanked all those who had sent him birthday wishes on his 61st birthday anniversary on Wednesday. "Thank you for all the birthday greetings. I am touched by the words of inspiration conveyed while we are grieving. "May Allah bless Malaysia," he said in his latest Twitter entry. The phrase 'while we are grieving' clearly referred to the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH17 which crashed in east Ukraine last Thursday night. The MAS flight MH17, which was on its way from Amsterdam, Holland to Kuala Lumpur, was believed to have been shot down over Donetsk, east Ukraine, which killed 298 people including 15 crew members. The Malaysian government and MAS were now dedicating all available resources to efforts to recover the bodies of victims of the MH17 crash. Efforts to bring back the bodies of the victims were made possible following the agreement reached between the Prime Minister and the pro-Russian separatist leader in the area, Alexander Borodai, last Monday. --BERNAMA
