PM sees progress in probe into Ratchaprasong bombing

BANGKOK, August 21 (TNA) -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said that investigation made gradual progress in the Aug 17 Ratchaprasong bombing case but possible motives have not been narrowed down. He said the United States has offered equipment to facilitate the probe. General Prayut said that explosions at the Ratchaprasong intersection and at the Sathon pier this week may linked and authorities would find out if they resulted from a political or international issue. General Prayut said security officials would seek equipment to help identify a suspected bomber from the US as American charge d’affaires Patrick Murphy had offered assistance. He ruled out the possibility that foreign officials to be drawn in to assist in the investigation. The prime minister stressed that businesses in Thailand would continue as usual, urging public not to be too scared to go out and live a normal life. (TNA)
