PM: Surveillance is heightened in Thai Far South during coming New Year

BANGKOK, November 30 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha insists on a high alert among security forces in the Thai Far South during the upcoming New Year Festival. The prime minister, who is also Chief of the Thai army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO),told journalists on November 29 that relevant security agencies have been instructed during their weekly meetings to be always watchful national security in all areas across the country. The prime minister said the concerned security agencies, including those in the violence-plagued Thai Deep South, have been assigned to work together in an integrated manner. "What is important is that all people must help keep close surveillance to the best of their abilities to protect their areas and national security", stressed the Thai leader. (TNA)
