PM to visit flood victims in Thai Far South

NARATHIWAT,THAILAND, January 4 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha is scheduled to visit Narathiwat Province in the Thai Far South on January 6 to inspect the flooding situation and meet flood victims there. Narathiwat Governor Sittichai Sakda called a meeting with concerned agencies and chiefs of all 13 districts on Wednesday to follow up the flooding situation and to prepare for the prime minister's upcoming trip to his province late this week. The governor said the prime minister will visit Sukirin District, the hardest flood-hit area in particular. Besides, the prime minister will inspect water levels in three main river basins, including Saiburi, Bang Nara and Su-ngai Golok, where the water situation remains critical. The governor revealed that the prime minister will then lead his delegation to attend a meeting on local security and economic issues at the Provincial Hall. (TNA)
