PM to visit South

BANGKOK, Dec 27 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha is due to leave for the southern provinces of Surat Thani and Songkhla on Monday to inspect progresses made on his government’s economic policies there. Surat Thani governor Wongsiri Phromchana on Sunday held a meeting with senior officials at a school in Baan Na Doem district on security measures to be provided to the prime minister and accompanying delegates. During his visit to Surat Thani, Gen. Prayut will inspect how government officials offer assistance to rubber planters and how they promote investment in the province. He is to offer financial assistance to 50 rubber planters, chair a joint committee of the public and private sectors at the conference room of the military airport in Phunphin district before departing for Songkhla province. In Songkhla province, officials of the Southern Industrial Estate held a meeting with senior military and police officers on welcoming programmes to be given to Gen. Prayut and his delegates to the province. Gen. Prayut is scheduled to open a rubber industrial estate investment centre in the provincial seat before proceeding to officially open a new building at the customs office in Sadao district bordering Malaysia. Representatives of Songkhla agriculturists plan to submit demand to the prime minister for his government to help solve falling prices of agricultural produce and to give financial assistance speedily to rubber growers as agreed by his cabinet earlier.
