PM:Foreign countries laud Thailand's improving situation

BANGKOK, October 21 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha says that several foreign countries have expressed their appreciation to Thailand's improving situation. General Prayut on Tuesday cited as an example that visiting Bahrain Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa praised the good situation in Thailand now during a meeting with him on October 20. Earlier, General Prayut also made similar comments when he visited neighbouring Myanmar and attended the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Italy last week. General Prayut also told journalists after the Cabinet's weekly meeting that he is happy with people's now support for his government's serious attempts to solve national problems. However, the prime minister admitted that he remains concerned over underground movements, while his interim government has been prepared for coping with the underground activities. The prime minister stressed if they are underground, they must not surface, while he is committed to do good things and to be determined to solve national problems and to create understanding with the public. The prime minister warned it is very dangerous for anyone to take actions for the time being because other countries do not put any blame on Thailand and anyone who creates unrest in the country now is considered as being in danger. Regarding his next overseas trips, the prime minister stated he will leave for allied nations again only if they are beneficial to public and national interests. The prime minister, meanwhile, shrugged off reports that former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra might meet exiled ex-prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, her elder brother, during her ongoing trip to Japan, saying that Yingluck had complied with regulations by seeking permissions from the army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) for her overseas trips in advance.
