PM's Wife Hosts Welcoming Dinner In Conjunction With ISAM 2014

PUTRAJAYA, April 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian prime minister's wife, Rosmah Mansor Tuesday night hosted a welcoming dinner, in conjunction with the International Seminar on Autism 2014 (Isam 2014) here at Seri Perdana. The dinner was attended by the First Lady of Sri Lanka, Shiranti Wickramasinghe Rajapaksa; First Lady of Kyrgyz Republic Dr Raisa Atambaeva; First Lady of Albania, Odeta Nishani; and, First Lady of Morocco Nabila Benkirane. Also attending the dinner was Saima Wazed Hossain, the daughter of the Bangladesh prime minister. More than 300 local and international participants atended the two-day seminar which ends Wednesday. Isam 2014, which was officiated Tuesday morning by Prime Minister Najib Razak at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre here is the first of its kind with the theme, 'Autism is not a Tragedy, Ignorance is'. Organised by Permata Programme in collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and non-governmental organisation Autism Speaks, it emphasises on the importance of providing high quality intervention programme to autistic children. Among the international presenters are Prof Dr Eric Fomboune from Oregon Health and Science University, Prof Dr Cheryl Dissanayake (La Trobe University, Australia) and Dr Wu Ruth Yu Yu (Taipei Teachers University), besides several autism experts from Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
