PM:Sound Sino-Thai ties have been maintained

BANGKOK, August 10 (TNA) - Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has expressed his appreciation to sound relations and cooperation between China and Thailand, especially in economic issues that have been on well progress so far. Thai Deputy Government Spokesman Lieutenant General Werachon Sukondhapatipak told journalists of the Thai premier's remarks during his meeting with outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Ning Fukui at Bangkok's Government House on August 9. The deputy spokesman said during the farewell meeting, the Thai prime minister thanked the Chinese ambassador for his hard working over the past four years to promote closer ties and cooperation between Beijing and Bangkok. According to the deputy spokesman, the Thai premier also stressed on strengthened Sino-Thai economic partnership, while the outgoing Chinese top envoy, whose term will soon end, pledged to promote expanding Chinese investment projects in Thailand, especially those in the Thai government-supported Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and to facilitate Thai investors and tourists in China. The deputy spokesman stated that the Thai prime minister also thanked the outgoing Chinese ambassador for supporting the Sino-Thai cooperation on electric train projects, which represent government-to-government cooperation between China and Thailand. The deputy spokesman noted that both the Chinese top envoy and the Thai premier also expressed their appreciation to regular exchanges of visits between Chinese and Thai people at all levels. Besides, both sides agreed on promoting expanding regional connectivity, with Thailand being a gateway of China to the ASEAN Community (AC) through the Thai EEC Project and China's major policies, particularly the "One Belt, One Road" streategy.
