PM:Thailand, Maldives conclude seven deals

BANGKOK, June 8 (TNA) - Thailand and Maldives have inked seven memoranda of understanding (MOUs) on bilateral cooperation in various areas, including tourism, education, public health and fishery. Speaking during her weekly TV and radio programme on Saturday morning, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra told the public of the development, concluded during her recent official trip to Maldives, scheduled for May 31-June 3. Yingluck said that during her four-day visit to Maldives, the first-ever official trip to the South Asian island nation of a top Thai leader in 34 years, Thailand and Maldives also agreed to jointly promote two-way trade and investment. According to the prime minister, bilateral trade between Thailand and Maldives is, therefore, expected to double over the next five years. (TNA)
