Police bust dog skin factory in Thai Northeast

SAKON NAKHON, THAILAND, February 5 (TNA) - Local police, in cooperation with livestock officials, raided a dog skin-processing factory destined for exports to overseas markets, in Sakon Nakhon Province in the Thai Northeast on Wednesday. During the raid, a large amount of dog skin was found in the roadside factory in Phonnakaew District. The local police arrested and detained the plant's supervisor and five workers and seized 350 pieces of dog skin. According to the police, the factory completely processed canine skin, from removing fat and hair, drying and bleaching the skin. The processed products were then shipped to China and Taiwan, fetching a price around 2,000-3,000 baht a piece.(TNA)
