Police experts search for more evidence after bombing

BANGKOK, Jan 19 (TNA) - Senior police and experts of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit on Sunday afternoon began searching for more evidence at a row of deserted buildings in central Bangkok, two days after a bomb was hurled into anti-government protesting group, killing one person and wounding 37 others. Policemen and the EOD experts first searched the deserted buildings on Banthat Thong Road where weapons were seized shortly after the deadly explosion. They later inspected nearby deserted buildings, located inside an alley, to determine which direction the bomb was thrown into the crowd of protesters loyal to the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) on Friday afternoon. To date, the bomber is still at large. PDRC supporters, led by its secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban, were marching on Banthat Thong Road on that day in an attempt to oust the caretaker government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and hold a national political reform prior to holding a general election.
