Police Foil Sales Of 49.2 Kg Of Marijuana

Denpasar, Bali, Dec 7 (ANTARA) - Police said they had arrested two suspects of drug dealers with 49.2 kg of marijuana in this Bali capital city this week. The two, known as a vegetable trader and a parking man were arrested on Monday in separate places with two suitcases full of dry marijuana, chief of anti drug unit Comr I Wayan Suarda said on Friday. One of the suspect Trubus Hariyono was picked up from a house at Jalan Raya Sesetan Gang Taman Sari II B Denpasar and Muhammad Darwin Hasibuan was arrested at Jalan Kresek Gang Ikan Baronang Denpasar. Trubus, who hailed from Jember, East Java, said he was asked by Muhammad Darwin Hasibuan, who hailed from Gunung Tua, North Sumatra to help carry the drug. The two brought the drug from Sumatra by bus to Bali and they were believed to have been in the business several times. The two, however, claimed they were only couriers and were paid Rp1.8 million to carry it from Sumatra. Police are still investigating the case.
