Police Hospital continues normal services after controllable fire

BANGKOK, October 28 (TNA) - Police Hospital in the heart of Bangkok has carried on its normal medical services, after a fire, breaking out at a building in its compound on early Monday morning, was put out. Firefighters had spent about 40 minutes to bring the flames, which broke out at about 5:45am on the ninth floor of the hospital's Chalerm Phrakiart Building, under control. More than 10 child patients on the affected floor were, in the meantime, evacuated to a safe building. An initial investigation found that the blaze broke out inside an auditorium but no other rooms were damaged. National Police Chief Police General Adul Saengsingkaew said, after inspecting the area, that fire prevention measures in every building of the hospital will be reviewed. The Police Hospital has already resumed its normal services in the wake of the fire. (TNA)
