Police probe on seized plastic garbage

SAMUT SAKHON, June 2 (TNA) - Police are now investigating on seized 58 tonnes of compressed plastic garbage, illegally imported by a firm. The police and officials of Pollution Control Department and the Samut Sakhon Industrial Office raided Longluck Plastic and Metal Co., Ltd. in Samut Sakhon province after 58 tonnes of compressed plastic garbage was found in four huge containers at Latkrabang Inland Container Depot in Bangkok yesterday. The company allegedly made a false declaration that the containers carried imported plastic pieces. The seized dirty plastic garbage is illegal for importing into Thailand. Moreover, no machine for cleaning plastic bags is found at the plant. Officials believe that the dirty plastic trash would be sent to other factories because the plant could not show its production capacity during the raid. (TNA)
