Police seize 120 kgs of crystal meth

CHIANG RAI, May 26 (TNA) - A drug smuggler with 120 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine breaks through a border police checkpoint in Chiang Rai before getting cornered in a high speed chase. Police officers said they signaled to the van to stop at the checkpoint in Mae Sai district near the Thai-Myanmar border. The driver hastily steered the van away prompting border police officers to a hot pursuit. Minutes later the van was abandoned with driver door left opened on the road. Officers continued the pursuit on foot and were able to arrest the male driver. The ice drug in 120 packages was found in a special compartment on the vehicle, police said. (TNA)
