Police seize over 2m methamphetamines in Thai North

LAMPANG, THAILAND, October 22 (TNA) - Police in Thailand's northern Lampang province have seized over 2 million methamphetamine pills and nabbed one suspect, while the other fled the scene, after intercepting a suspected vehicle. The suspected drug gang first tried to escape the police interception by driving away but crashed into a house causing damages; while enabling the local police force to search their vehicle in the Nakae locality of Lampang's Ngao district and found the 2.48 million methamphetamine pills and 5 kilograms of ecstasy or crystal methamphetamines. As the arrested drug suspect has now been detained in a police custody, the local police force of the Ngao Police Station has been hunting for the other escaping suspect, who was said to be a police sergeant. Lampang's provincial police commander Police Major General Pornchai Pakpongsri has, meanwhile, mobilized border patrol police officers, together with sniffer dogs and a helicopter, to quickly track down the other drug suspect, who has remained at large.
