Policeman praised for saving boy from drowning

BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) - National police chief Chaktip Chaijinda has praised a policeman, who saved a boy from drowning in Songkhla, said a deputy spokesman of the Royal Thai Police. The incident occurred last Thursday, when the five-year-old boy accidentally slipped into Songkhla Lake while he and his parents were leaving a ferry. Police Captain Somporn Meeluenloi decided to jump into the water and was able to rescue the boy from drowning. According to the deputy spokesman, Pol. Gen. Chaktip had complimented his subordinate while saying that the Royal Thai Police has a policy to provide emergency response training to every police officer. (TNA)
