Polish cinema to be highlighted at Tehran film festival

TEHRAN,Jan.22(MNA) -- Polish cinema will be reviewed at the 31st Fajr International Film Festival, organizers announced on Monday. Seven feature films and 21 short films by Polish directors will go on screen in a program entitled “From Gdansk to Tatry”. The feature films include “Man of Iron” and “Katyn” directed by Andrzej Wajda, “My Nikifor” by Krzysztof Krauze, “Life” by Krzysztof Zanussi, “Time to Die” and “Tomorrow Will Be Better” by Dorota Kedzierzawska, and “The Mill and the Cross” by Lech Majewski. This program aims to raise the knowledge of Iranian moviegoers about Polish cinema, the organizers said in a press release. It will also create an opportunity for Iranian moviegoers to make a comparison between Iranian cinema and Polish cinema. The Fajr International Film Festival, which is Iran’s most important event in the motion picture industry, will be held from January 31 to February 10 in Tehran.
