Possibility For Remains Of Three Other Victims To Be Brought Home On Sunday - Minister

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 (Bernama) -- There is a possibility for the remains of three other Malaysian victims of MH17 tragedy to be brought home this Sunday, according to Transport Minister DDr Liow Tiong Lai. He said the remains of two victims, one of whom was a Muslim, had been released for repatriation so far, while the remains of the other victim were still undergoing confirmation procedures by the Netherlands authority, which were expected to be completed Saturday. "There is a documentation issue concerning the remains of the third victim and we hope it will be solved soon so that they all can be brought home on Sunday," he told a press conference, Friday. Liow said the names of the three victims and further information in the repatriation of their remains would be announced to the media on Saturday. The minister said the government had never dilly-dallied in the repatriation of the victims, but the release process had various stages which would definitely take some time. Liow said this was because numerous matching tests, DNA profiling works and post mortems needed to be done before the remains could be released for funeral management and repatriation. After the press conference, the minister also paid his last respects to four non-Muslim victims of the MH17 tragedy whose remains were taken to the Nirvana Memorial Center for religious ceremonies. The four victims were Foo Ming Lee, Ng Qing Zheng, Mabel Anthony Samy and her husband, Paul Rajasingam Sivagnanam. --BERNAMA
