Post-Soviet security bloc’s leaders sign 15 documents on strengthening security

BISHKEK, November 28. /TASS/. The heads of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) signed 15 documents on strengthening regional and international security at a session of the organization’s Collective Security Council in Bishkek, the press office of the Kyrgyz president reported on Thursday. "Following the results of the meeting chaired by the Kyrgyz side, 15 documents were signed, including a statement by the CSTO Collective Security Council on enhancing international interaction and cooperation for the purposes of strengthening global and regional security, a decision on a plan of measures to celebrate the 75th Victory [of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany] in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War and a decision on making amendments to the CSTO regulatory acts," the press office said. Some decisions relate to stepping up CSTO member states’ interaction in the defense industry, joint R&D and experimental design work, and also in countering crimes in the sphere of information technologies, it added. "Also, decisions were signed on making amendments to the Statute on the CSTO Council of Defense Ministers, its 2020 budget and so on," it said. The session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Bishkek was attended by the heads of Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. After the session was over, the rotating chair in the organization passed over from Kyrgyzstan to Russia. Read more
