Poverty Reduction In Jambi Prioritized

Jambi, Aug 12 (Antara) - Jambi Governor Hasan Basri Agus has asserted that poverty reduction ranked high in his priority list of development programs to improve the welfare of the community in the province. The governor made the statement through the acting regional secretary Kailani during the Tanjung Jabung Barat (Tanjabar) Regional Legislative Assembly meeting in Kualatungkal on Monday. Hasan Bastri explained that his list of key priorities included reducing poverty, increasing employment opportunities, stepping up investment and export, and improving health and education accessibility and quality. Therefore, he called on the Tanjabar district government to ensure transparency and accountability in regional financial management, while cooperating with other regions for promoting development in the region. Meanwhile, Tanjabar District Head Usman Ermulan pointed out that Rp1.4 trillion has been set aside in the 2014 regional budget, the largest in value among the 11 districts and municipalities in the province of Jambi.
