Premier receives St. Petersburg Governor

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa underlined Bahrain's keenness to broaden the scope of cooperation with Russia in all fields to serve common interests. He was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today St. Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko and his accompanying delegation. HRH the Premier stressed strong ties binding the two friendly countries, lauding growing bilateral coordination regarding regional and international issues. He hailed the Russian delegation's visit to Bahrain, stressing the importance of such meetings in bolstering cooperation between the two friendly countries and activating joint agreements. He also underscored the key role that could be played by Russia in fostering regional security and stability given its great international influence. HRH the Prime Minister emphasised the need to avail of the promising opportunities in both countries to further spur investments and enhance economic and trade cooperation by carrying out joint ventures. He lauded growing bilateral cooperation, stressing the need to take advantage of the Russian experiences and capabilities to carry out more joint projects. He urged businessmen to benefit from the investment opportunities and facilities provided by both countries to launch more joint projects in various fields. The St. Petersburg Governor commended HRH the Prime Minister's keenness to further boost Bahraini-Russian relations and cooperation, lauding the kingdom's growth at all levels. He praised Bahrain's big development strides, stressing keenness of the Russian companies to set up joint ventures. He also voiced Russia's interest in boosting bilateral cooperation and availing of Bahrain's strategic location at the heart of the Arabia Gulf region to promote partnership with the GCC countries.
