President of Kazakhstan proposes creating United Eurasian economic space

ASTANA, May 22. /TASS/. President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev proposes creating United Eurasian economic space. "I propose creating United Eurasian economic space," Nazarbayev said at the Astana Economic Forum on Friday. "It’s important for us to adopt uniform rules concerning first of all trade, transportation and circulation of resources to take into account national interests of all participants." The President said a permanent platform should be created with the framework of the United Eurasian economic space. "The platform will be the place where proposals on the continent’s development and upgrade of integration level between its members will be worked out. The Astana Economic Forum may be this kind of platform," he said. The global economy "cannot return to previous development rates" after the financial and economic crisis in 2008, Nazarbayev said, adding that a number of economists do not rule out "emergence of the next stage of the global crisis, which is already transiting from the financial sphere to the area of currency wars, economic wars in the form of unlawful sanctions and socio-political wars."
