President Masum From Riyadh: There is a Formal Move To Transfer Saudi prisoners in Iraq to the Kingdom

BAGHDAD / NINA / President Fuad Masum announced that there is a formal move to transfer Saudi Arabia prisoners in Iraq to Saudi. Masum said in a press statement from the Saudi capital Riyadh, "Interior Minister Mohammed Salem al-Ghaban met with Saudi officials to look in this file, and discussed with them the possibility of exchange prisoners between the two countries," noting: "Iraqi-Iran relations with Iran are good, but they could not be at the expense of relations with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states." He added, "The Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz confirmed, during a meeting with him, on the need that the relationship between the two countries should be developed and advanced and there should be understanding and coordination." He continued: "We know that King Abdullah is frank and honest man, so we have to put this in our account, we do not want to promise something and do something else." Masum added,: "The Najaf religious authorities confirmed to me before the visit to Riyadh, the need that the ties with the Kingdom should be distinct and good, and I transferred this image to the king." President Fuad Masum has ended his official visit to Riyadh yesterday by his meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal and Deputy Minister of Interior in the Kingdom, Abdul Rahman Al-Rabiah and head of Saudi intelligence, Prince Khalid bin Bandar, before heading to Mecca to perform the Umrah. / End
