President of Poland Meets Qatar's Permanent Representative to NATO

Rome, May 24 (QNA) - President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda has met with HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), on the sidelines of the Senior Executive Regional Conference, held in Rome. During the meeting, they discussed the role of the State of Qatar as member of Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), as well as aspects of cooperation between the ICI member states and the NATO, and the outcomes of the upcoming NATO summit. The Polish President focused in his speech during the regional conference on the NATO future plan, and Poland's host of the upcoming NATO summit in the capital Warsaw in July. For his part, HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation between the ICI member states and the NATO in various fields, especially in the political and security areas, noting that the upcoming NATO summit in Warsaw should discuss this cooperation, and that the ICI countries should be represented at the highest levels. The Senior Executive Regional Conference, organized by the NATO Defense College, aims at analyzing different views concerning the Arabian Gulf region and the Mediterranean in order to promote common concepts at the regional level, and topics of interest to the NATO and its partners in the Arabian Gulf and the Mediterranean regions, with the participation of officials from the presidency of NATO and its alliance, and decision-makers, diplomats and intellectuals from the Arab Gulf and the Mediterranean countries.
