President Rouhani Invites Ex-rivals To Luncheon

Tehran, June 14, IRNA – A senior official said on Saturday that President Hassan Rouhani has invited his ex-rivals in the 11th presidential elections to a luncheon on the occasion of the first anniversary of his coming to power as the seventh president of the country. President Rouhaniˈs cultural advisor Hessameddin Ashena stressed that the Presidentˈs invitation has been welcomed. Iranˈs 11th presidential hopefuls were Hassan Rouhani, Mohammad Reza Aref, Ali Akbar Velayati, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Mohsen Rezaei, Saeed Jalili, Mohammad Gharazi and Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf. President Rouhani won the 11th presidential election last year gardening 18,613,329 votes out of a total of over 35 million cast ballots. He took office in August 2013./end
