President To Unveil Book Fair Stamp

Tehran, April 23, IRNA – The stamp featuring the quarter century history of the upcoming 25th International Tehran Book Fair will be unveiled by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on May 1. The stamp featuring a Simorgh (phoenix) was designed by Mohsen Yousefi. Simorgh symbolizes ascendance and progress in Iran’s mythology. The event will be held in the two local and foreign sections and some 23,000 books have so far been selected for display during the fair. A total of 2,500 publishers have applied for participating in the book fair. The 25th Tehran International Book Fair will be held in Mosalla (grand praying ground) from May 2-12. The upcoming event will be officially inaugurated by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on May 1. It will be open to the public as of May 2.
