President Urges Regional States To Accomplish Environmental Tasks

Ahvaz, Khuzestan Prov, June 11, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday urged regional states to accomplish their tasks in the field of environment. Addressing a ceremony to inaugurate a center for the climate change research in this southwestern province, the President said other regional states should also accomplish their duties to reduce air pollution and dust haze in the region. President Ahmadinejad arrived here this morning to inaugurate a number of development projects. He expressed hope that the center would help control and reduce the existing dust haze in the provincial areas, particularly in the city of Ahvaz. The newly-inaugurated climate change research center is located in Hamidiyeh district, some 25 km west of the provincial capital Ahvaz. The center, fully established by Iranian experts, is the second center in Iran. The first one was in Orumiyeh in northwest Iran./end
