Prime Minister Attends Honouring of Outstanding Students Under Auspices of General Authority for Minors Affairs

Doha, November 28 (QNA) - HE the Prime Minister and Minister of interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani attended the 17th annual award ceremony for outstanding students under the auspices of the General Authority for Minors Affairs, which was held this evening at Qatar National Convention Center.   The ceremony began by recitation of verses of the Holy Quran, then Saad Nahar Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the General Authority for Minors Affairs delivered a speech in which he commended the auspices and attendance of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, for honoring outstanding students, stressing the attention of the State of Qatar and care for all segments of society by developing their abilities in order to be actors in advancing the development of the country.    Al Nuaimi said that the establishment of the General Authority for Minors Affairs comes in line with the national vision of the State of Qatar 2030, noting in this context that the Authority's main aim is to take of care of minors, and the like by offering social, educational and health care and support, in addition to preserving the investment of their assets and develop best practices in accordance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia governing the guardianship process to minors, and the like.   The Authority is always seeking to provide favourable environment, and necessary support for this segment in order to enable them to achieve success and excellence in scientific and social careers, and become active members in the march of progress and advancement of Qatar, he added.      Al Nuaimi congratulated all the honorees this year under the auspices of the Authority including more than 500 male and female students who have achieved outstanding levels during the academic year 2014-2015.(QNA)
