Producers to build “City of Mice 2” on rubble of wars in Mideast

TEHRAN,July 28(MNA) -- The producers of “The City of Mice 2” announced their plan to dub the Iranian film into Arabic to entertain children in the war-torn regions of Gaza, Syria, and Iraq in the near future. “Due to the human catastrophes that have affected the lives of children in Gaza, Iraq and Syria, we decided that ‘The City of Mice 2’ should help the precious children as much as it can,” one of the two producers of the project, Manijeh Hekmat, told the Persian service of ISNA on Sunday. “We will try to screen ‘The City of Mice 2’ for the children on the rubble of collapsed buildings in the war-torn countries,” she added. She addressed the children and said, “During these unjust wars, we want to share with you the happiness of Iranian children by watching this film alongside you, and thereby to teach the arrogant rulers proper human behavior.” Hekmat said that the screenings will be held with the help of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). “The City of Mice 2” is a sequel to the 1984 big-screen hit “The City of Mice”, which was produced with the puppet characters from the children’s TV series “The School of Mice” (1981-1984). The movie, now in its postproduction stage, has been directed by Marzieh Boroumand, and produced by Hekmat and Ali Sartipi. The Iranian premiere of the film is scheduled for August.
