Programme to help low-income earners launched

KANCHANABURI, Feb 10 (TNA) - Commerce Minister Sontirat Sontijirawong today presided over a government programme designed to boost income for the poor in 10 provinces throughout Thailand. The programme is held in Kanchanaburi to create new jobs for low-income earners and to also help those doing businesses through franchise system, especially in 10 provinces nationwide. The programme provides consulting service for interested persons to start a business or to apply for job training. In order to promote selling of local products, the ministry plans to install an online trade system and to find markets for them in modern shopping malls and farm outlets. Also, the government wants to reduce the cost of living and in doing so, it will establish 20,000 more Blue Flag shops selling cheap products to the poor. (TNA)
