Project for pregnant women launched in Arkhangai

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ France's "Sanofi Espoir" foundation and "Sante Sud" NGO have started to implement a three-year project on health of mothers and infants with a EUR 475 thousand in Arkhangai aimag. The project aims to deliver medical assistance to mothers and infants, to renovate medical facilities in the aimag’s hospitals and to strengthen professional skills of doctors. Focusing on the health of mothers and children, the project has been involved in goals of the 2010-2015 health strategic plan, which has been worked out by the aimag's health service, said R.Gandiimaa, a head of the aimag’s Health Service. The project also intends to establish a network among all professionals and medical doctors and to contribute to fortifying organizations and management of the mothers and infants' hospitals. Moreover, 150 doctors and experts will be involved in trainings, and 17 hospitals will be connected to communication network.
