Protest gathering outside French Embassy in Tehran

Tehran, Sept 20, IRNA – A group of people and students of Tehran's theological schools gathered outside French Embassy in the Iranian capital Thursday protesting the defamatory film against the holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH). The angry protestors shouted slogans against the US, France and the Zionist regime, showing their indignation against insulters of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The protestors also shouted "Mohammad Rasoolollah" (Mohammad, the messenger of God). They carried placards reading "Down with the US," "Down with Zionists," "US, Israel, prime suspect of this crime," "Insulting to messenger is defaming 1.5 billion Muslims," "Down with three evils, US, France, Britain." Earlier this morning, a group of Quran activists staged protest rally against the US anti-Islam film in a gathering held in Tehran's Palestine Square. The protestors shouted slogans against the US and Zionist regime as well as enemies of Islam and those who were involved in making the insulting movie. The US-made film against Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) provoked furious outrage of Muslims worldwide including Iran, Lebanon, Pakistan and Libya where the US ambassador and three other US embassy staff were killed. Since the defamatory film was released on Internet, widespread demonstrations were held by Muslims and non-Muslims in different countries to condemn sacrilege of religious sanctities and figures.
