PTT, NSTDA grant scholarship to researcher

BANGKOK, September 3 (TNA) -- Thailand’s PTT Public Co, Ltd, the country’s largest energy firm, and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) have co-signed a scholarship contract to a selected researcher, aimed at upgrading research and development knowledge for the country. Under the contract signed Wednesday by PTT president and CEO Pailin Chuchottaworn and NSTDA president Thaweesak Koanantakool, the ‘PTT – NSTDA Chair Professor’ scholarship worth 20 million baht will be awarded to selected researcher for a period of five years. An assessment to the awarded researcher will be conducted on a yearly basis, under the supervision of NSTDA. The establishment of ‘PTT – NSTDA Chair Professor’ scholarship is a part of mechanism to improve production and services in Thailand and to support efficient researcher to produce outstanding work which could be used constructively. Mr Pailin said the scholarship would help further boost research works in the industry and services including biofuels, X-to-liquid/chemical plastics, bio-plastics/chemicals, and polymer sectors.
