Pupils to participate in National Geographic World Championship

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian pupils will compete in the National Geographic World Championship to be held in July in Saint Petersburg, Russia. These children have been selected by the Mongolian Wunderkind 2013 national Olympiad for geography which has been organized here for the first time. The winner of the gold medal is G.Torbold, a 11th grade pupil from "Sant" school, runner0up are children from the same school and Mongolia-Turkey joint high school. They will take part in the above championship. The medalists have been awarded certificates to receive the "National Geographic Mongolia" magazine for free and tickets for trips to Khovsgol and Omnogobi aimags. Co-organized by the Mongolian project of National Geography and the National Geographic Kids Mongolia magazine, the national Olympiad attracted 360 pupils from the capital city, its Nalaikh, Baganuur districts, and from Khovsgol, Dundgobi, Selenge and Darkhan-Uul aimags.
