Qashqavi: French Embassy Should Reflect Iran's Realities To French Tourists

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA - Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said on Wednesday that French Embassy is expected to truly reflect Iranian realities, stability, development and healthy situation for foreign tourists in France. Qashqavi made the remarks in a meeting with French Ambassador to Tehran Bruno Foucher. Following assassination of a French national in Algeria, the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been put in the list of countries with low security for French tourists, the link belongs to French foreign ministry. Statistics indicate that the visit of French tourists to Iran has increased 85 percent compared to the corresponding period last year which proves that the name of Iran in that list surprised all people, he said. The French ambassador said that the Embassy has not reported any case of insecurity in Iran, instead, has introduced Iran as one of the safest country in the region with numerous tourist attractions. M. Foucher said that the Embassy is ready to help promote tourism with Iran and spares no efforts to this end. He promised to take timely action in order to cross out name of Iran from the list of 40 countries. Expansion of cultural ties and tourism between Iran and France is on the agenda of of French Embassy in Iran, he said. /end
