Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister Meets AUHIP Chairperson

Doha, January 20 (QNA) - HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud met here today with the Chairperson of the African Union High-level Implementation Panel (AUHIP) Thabo Mbeki and AUHIP member Abdulsalami Abubakar in the presence of the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) Acting Joint Special Representative and Joint Chief Mediator Abiodun Oluremi Bashua. Talks during the meeting focused on strengthening the peace process in Darfur and the AUHIP's efforts aimed to urge the non-signatory armed movements to join the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) and involve them in the national dialogue in Sudan.(QNA)
