Qatar’s Minister of Justice Praises Success of UN Crime Congress

Doha, April 20 (QNA) - HE Minister of Justice Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Muhannadi praised Sunday the outcomes of the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, which was concluded in Doha today. Speaking to Qatar News Agency, HE the Minister said that the conference's declaration will be a roadmap for the event for the next five years. Additionally, the workshops held during the event will be the basis of developing the international criminal justice system in the future, His Excellency added. HE the Minister also highlighted the initiative made by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani to establish a fund to help educate children displaced by regional crises. HE the Minister of Justice added that the initiative stemmed from the State of Qatar's commitment to the humanitarian role towards the region and internationally. His Excellency then thanked HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for supporting the conference, which gave it a big lift. His Excellency also thanked HE the Prime Minister for the role he played in making the conference a success. (QNA)
