Qatar to Attend Regional Conference for the Arab States on Education Post-2015

Doha, January 26 (QNA) - Qatar will participate in the Regional Conference for the Arab States on Education Post-2015 du to be held in the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh from 27 to 29 January. Organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Egyptian Education Ministry, the Regional Conference for the Arab States on Education Post-2015 will develop and validate regional recommendations for the international framework for action to be adopted at the World Education Forum in Incheon in 2015. Qatar's delegation to the meeting will be headed by HE Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahid Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council. The delegation will also include Dr Hamda Al Sulaiti, Secretary-General of the National Education, Culture and Science Committee and National Coordinator of Education for All, and Khalid Al Harqan, Director of SEC Evaluation Institute. The meeting will provide an opportunity for countries to voice their reflections and needs for education beyond 2015 and contribute to the shaping of the future of education within the broader development agenda from a regional perspective. The meeting will culminate in a shared vision and understanding of EFA status in the region, a regional perspective on the proposed post-2015 global education goal and targets and regional contributions to the development of the post-2015 Framework for Action and implementation strategy.
