Qatar Basketball Qualifies for Asia Cup

Dammam, October 18 (QNA) - Qatar's national basketball team qualified to the basketball Asia Cup in China, after defeating Saudi Arabia 71-66. The win also edges Qatar's team closer to winning the GCC championship for the second consecutive time. A win against Bahrain tomorrow will seal the championship. Qatari player Malek Abdullah expressed his happiness at defeating Saudi Arabia and qualifying for the Asia Cup. He commented on the game and said that Saudi Arabia played strong defense and forced Qatar to shoot from beyond the arc. He added that Qatar's clutch play managed to secure them the game in the final moments of the match. (QNA)
